Laura Lou Erb Roth was raised in the midwest in Westlake, Ohio and graduated from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. She is now a well established harpist in the Naples / Ft Myers area, and one of the founding members of the Naples Harp Ensemble. Laura Lou was the harpist in residence for the Registry Resort for 17 years, and also made regular weekly appearances at Lafite and Chablis. She continues to carry on the memory of her mother Laura Erb, who was also a dedicated harpist. Every year Laura Lou brings her students to participate in Naples annual "Festival of Lights" on 3rd Street and 5th Avenue. ​Laura Lou plays for the Naples / Ft Myers Town Hall Series, and has had the privilege to play for such notables as: Margaret Thatcher, Gerald Ford, Cokie Roberts, Shimon Peres, Colin Powell, Benazir Bhutto, Cherie Blair, Jimmy Carter and both President Bush's. She also continues to play weddings, parties, and events where her music enhances the ambiance of the event.

 

Laura Lou's passion is teaching children of all ages to develop a love of and skill for the harp. Using her natural gift with children that was cultivated through years of teaching at Lake Park Elementary School, Laura Lou has started countless young people on their journey with the harp. She continues to be an asset to the community as she teaches and directs the young people of the Naples Harp Youth Ensemble.
